Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Immediate Supervisor Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: 5am-5pm (12hr shift on a 2-2-3 rotation, includes working every other weekend)
Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities in the cheese manufacturing plant to ensure equipment reliability, plant safety, and efficient production. This role coordinates with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure all machinery and systems operate effectively and comply with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, and experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate daily with manager and review duties.
- Ensure sanitation, safety, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Assign and assist maintenance technicians to daily duties and specific work orders
- Schedule daily maintenance schedules to meet plant demands.
- Repair, rebuild, fabricate, install, and reconstruct equipment used in the facility which includes welding, brazing, lubricating, cleaning, inspecting, evaluating, plumbing and reading engineering type documents.
- Assist in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.
- Coach and develop employees to achieve continuous improvement in technical skills.
- Responsible for completing accurate and timely records and documentation
- Maintain and work with electronic preventative maintenance program
- Develop and implement short- and long-term repair projects to minimize downtime and maximize production.
- Prioritize department workload with knowledge of Technician ability.
- Effectively communicate and interact with plant, company, and external service employees as necessary to achieve completion of duties in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in process and equipment improvements and communicate opportunities to supervisors and managers to maintain awareness of costs relating to total plant operation.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be capable of performing all duties of a maintenance technician.
- Minimum two-year technical degree or 3 years related work experience preferred.
- Minimum two years supervisory experience preferred.
- Must possess solid analytical skills, mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under pressure.
- Computer literacy applied to control and data management.
- Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
- Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.
- Must have valid drivers license
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to push, pull, and move up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds. All jobs require visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. At times there can be loud noise which may cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
