Job Description

  • Responsible for controlling costs and maintaining profitability in the superintendent's craft discipline.
  • Examines drawings and specifications to determine labor, materials/parts and equipment required for various work tasks.
  • Schedules crews according to the size and complexity of tasks and instructs the foremen and/or employees regarding desired labor methods and required equipment and materials necessary to complete project.
  • Conducts regular inspections of craftwork and serves to advise foremen and/or employees regarding work progress and quality of work. Ensures all work is within project specifications.
  • Continually monitors work areas for possible hazards and assists foremen in maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Schedules work for future job activities, monitors timely delivery of necessary materials and plant operating equipment and schedules necessary Company equipment to assure continued productivity.
  • Conducts regular safety meetings with craft employees addressing specific work areas and conditions that require safety attention stressing compliance with Company and regulatory safety procedures.
  • Submits accurate material quantities and cost distribution data on completed work to monitor and track project schedule and cost.
  • Reviews and analyzes cost distribution reports to assess work efficiency.
  • Coordinates with engineers, client/owner, inspectors, etc. to isolate problems regarding plant's mechanical equipment and assists in developing solutions to these problems.
  • Coordinates work activities with other craft supervision to assure productivity and to maintain project schedules.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related discipline; equivalent experience in lieu of education will be accepted
  • 1-3 years of experience in an industrial environment, petrochemical, process, power, LNG, or industrial maintenance
  • Detailed knowledge of craft skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work well with others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and willingness to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary
  • Ability to pass a post offer background check including a Motor Vehicle Report investigation and drug screen


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will be based from an on-site office on construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms
