General Summary:
Performs Maintenance activities related to the building, facility systems, related equipment and
company property. Assists with the implementation of specified company safety policies to ensure
an effective accident prevention program is maintained.
II. Essential Job Functions:
A. Determines, implements, and directs maintenance for facility equipment based on OSHA and
company standards.
B. Assists in evaluation of safety problems, accidents, and unsafe conditions and responds to
associate recommendations and/or complaints.
C. Serves as liaison with companies servicing fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, and with the
local fire department.
D. Represents the Company in the case of government agency inquiries, inspections, and
compliance to requirements. Works to prevent and correct deficiencies and to minimize
potential for noncompliance pertaining to environmental related regulations.
E. Serves as QRT chief, for emergency response of facility issues.
F. Prepares or reviews technical reports for forwarding to the appropriate agencies on
abatement programs and permits.
G. Serves as liaison to Engineering during new facility construction projects.
H. Maintains contact with parent companies for advice and to responds to requests regarding
compliance to government regulations.
I. Serves as contact person for all outside provided utilities.
J. Recommends location of utilities including natural gas, water, electric, waste water, sewer,
HVAC systems, and compressed air.
K. Maintains plant security of keys, locks, codes and fire alarms.
L. Assists in preparing the annual budget by providing forecasts for utilities, services, permits,
and facilities equipment maintenance.

M. Maintain and update blueprints for buildings and utilities.
N. Acts as contact person between contractors and Engineers as related to the utilities.
O. Responsible for all new building equipment - specification, quotes, installation, buyoff, etc.
P. Responsible for relocating/modifying all utilities - gas, compressed air, water, sewer,
ductwork and electricity.
Q. Responsible for checking monthly electric, gas and water costs. Power factor must remain
above 85%. Implement cost saving programs to save money on utilities.
R. Responsible for security/alarm systems - call for repair/relocate, fix minor problems, new
equipment installation, and have a working knowledge of wiring and operation for both fire
and security.
S. Update fire zone maps annually.
T. Purchase safety equipment for the plant - ladders, safety fences, fire extinguishers, safety
signs, floor decals, etc.
U. Responsible for annual safety inspections of the overhead cranes throughout the building and
maintain records according to OSHA guidelines.
V. Contact for all City, State and Federal for building and facility permission.
W. Monitor company grounds - lawn, landscaping, outside storage areas, drainage, storm water
regulations, etc.
X. Performs other duties as assigned.
III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Diploma from technical field required, or equivalent
combination of education and relevant experience.
Certification in HAZMAT is necessary
Experience:
Greater than four (4) years of Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance experience required.
Personal/Technical Skills:
General manufacturing and industrial equipment knowledge required.
Must understand and have a working knowledge of all plant systems (air conditioning, roof, chill
water system, air compressors, sprinkler systems, building access, lighting, electrical systems
and any current problems presently occurring with the building to avoid future problems).
Must understand and be able to locate all gas, water and sewer lines on the property.
Must be a member of the plant safety committee.
Must have a thorough knowledge of the company policies and procedures for safety and
environmental issues.
Requires a complete awareness and understanding of all applicable OSHA and EPA regulations
and requirements as well as any related local, state or federal laws
