We are looking for a Maintenance Planner that is responsible for advancing the development and sustainment of a proactive maintenance strategy, by providing effective equipment maintenance/inspection tasks, precision repair procedures, and through the capture and sharing of our best available asset maintenance knowledge. Monitors the maintenance proactive work backlog and manages the pipeline of incoming non-reactive requested maintenance work, by efficiently prioritizing incoming work requests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors daily, and ensures the proactive maintenance process is flowing. (From incoming requests, to planning, through scheduling and execution.)
- Reviews work order priorities, asset criticality and input from Operations in order to effectively sequence to-be-planned work.
- Scopes requested work. Examines equipment, systems, or facilities and analyzes information to determine needed installation steps, services, or repair tasks.
- Utilizes personal experience, in-house subject matter experts, or knowledgeable 3rd parties to determine how each job should be done.
- Applies proven reliability practices and methodologies related to precision maintenance techniques and reliability centered maintenance-based strategies to job plans and PM procedures.
- Estimates and calculates labor / skill estimates on all planned work, including both corrective repair work and PM work as well as 3rd party contractor labor.
- Provides requests to MRO Buyer and storeroom personnel for needed materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
- Ensures work is fully planned and ready to schedule in order to meet plant deadlines.
- Encourages and solicits feedback from Maintenance Team in order to update and improve corrective job plan procedures and PM procedures.
- Update and improve equipment and repair parts data in the CMMS including BOM info, specifications, manuals or other technical information found during job scoping and research.
- Utilizes metrics/data to evaluate and improve work processes. Monitors planning performance levels to ensure they are consistent with goals.
- Follows standard proactive work management work processes to ensure repeatable performance.
- Manage and Maintain the Plant CMMS as a Subject Matter Expert and Quality Assurance Officer.
- Train and Coach Maintenance team members on CMMS usage.
- Plan as required Maintenance projects that are not capital funded. Includes developing project scope, costing, timelines and implementation tasks.
- Interface with project teams on new capital projects as required, update CMMS system with removed or new assets including asset data, BOM, manuals and technical information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school or equivalent degree required; a two-year technical or bachelor's degree is preferred. Other additional technical certifications are also beneficial. Five years of experience in an industrial maintenance role with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing and carpentry knowledge and experience.
- Ability to fully leverage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Tabware
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Strong knowledge of and hands on experience with manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Strong decision-making, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of reliability principles involved in Preventative/Predictive Maintenance
- Knowledge of reliability principles, skills, techniques and tools involved in Precision Maintenance
- Knowledge of maintenance project implementation
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings including technical prints/assembly drawings.
- Ability to prepare detailed metrics and reports
- Ability to coach and train other team members
- Ability to work a variable schedule
- Duties may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
