Maintenance Mechanic

About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
• Pay Rate Range: $26-29/Hour
• Location: Eagan, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift Mon-Fri 6AM-2PM with required O/T as needed, especially during busy season (Oct-Jun)
• Position Type: Direct Hire Requirements and Qualifications:

1. Two-year degree in maintenance or mechanical technology field; plus, one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
3. Care and maintenance of commonly used hand and power tools and equipment
4. Knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems and other equipment and systems found in the facilities
5. A certain degree of creativity and latitude
6. Ability to perform the job with a high level of safety awareness
7. Ability to interpret technical documents, such as operating and maintenance instructions
8. Excellent communications and organizational skills
9. Desire and ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment
10. Willingness to work overtime as production schedule demand.
11. Effectively communicate with all members of organization
12. Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
13. Prioritize tasks and handle multiple priorities
14. Ability to lift 20lbs on a regular basis

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Execute assignments received from the Maintenance Manager/Mechanic
2. Lead in a timely and accurate fashion with the objective of minimizing downtime and maximizing quality, safety, and running time.
3. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems, and production machines
4. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
5. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
6. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
7. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
8. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
9. Understand and adhere to GMP, SOP and safety procedures at all times.
10. Participate, as required, in safety and GMP training sessions, and other company training sessions
