Job Description: Maintenance Mechanic

Shift: 1st (6 AM-6:30 PM) 2nd (6 PM-6:30 AM) availaility for overtime and weekends

Pay Rate: $30/HR

Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D.


Main Purpose of Job:

The Preventative Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment in an industrial setting. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, responding to work orders, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective, preventive, and condition-based maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, including sprockets, chains, bearings, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanisms.
  • Conduct lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and minor repairs as needed.
  • Create and improve preventive maintenance (PM) task lists and schedules.
  • Respond to work orders, provide service, and communicate feedback to the team while ensuring compliance with safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance processes and equipment performance.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Use hand tools, diagnostic hardware, and laptop computers to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility for day-to-day activities.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and repair machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Perform tests and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene and safety standards at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

Measurable Outcomes:

  • Increase production productivity by ensuring optimal equipment performance.
  • Balance preventive and planned maintenance to minimize reactive repairs.
  • Maintain zero rejections for product food safety and quality issues.
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Maintain costs at or below budgeted levels.
  • Implement quality and improvement initiatives.
  • Show continuous improvement in key performance indicators (KPIs).

Levels of Responsibility:

  • Oversee all factory processes and equipment.
  • Address breakdowns, maintenance tasks, and equipment improvements.
  • Support production targets and engineering budget management.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance machinery knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with both standard and metric equipment.
  • Basic HVAC knowledge.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
