Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Dayton, NJ

Salary: $33.83/hour

Schedule: Overnight / 3rd Shift (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM)


  • 3 Days On - 2 Days Off - 2 Days On - 3 Days Off
  • (36 hours one week, 48 hours the next. Must be available for alternating weekends and overtime as needed.)

Position Summary:


We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dayton, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining plastic molding machinery and electro-mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems, electrical devices, and production machines. This position requires proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and troubleshooting PLC systems.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
  • Replace or repair machine parts such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, switches, and other electrical components.
  • Identify issues by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, inspecting them for imperfections and dimensional changes.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair or replace defective parts.
  • Install special functional and structural parts in machinery and test performance.
  • Initiate purchase orders for necessary parts and machines.
  • Lubricate and clean parts, ensuring proper machine function.
  • Participate in the on-call program and work additional hours as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience and/or training; equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Preferably holds an Electrician's License (not mandatory).

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Set up, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures while ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting skills and ability to read and program PLC code.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, HVAC control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical control diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, and service manuals.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Work effectively under pressure to restore equipment during emergency breakdowns.

Competencies:


  • Ability to solve practical problems in situations with minimal standardization.
  • Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
