What this job involves: As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our watch engineers and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including preventive maintenance (PM), emergency response, general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC system maintenance. Your expertise will be vital in performing repairs, maintenance, and replacements of various building operational components.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, maintains strict attention to detail when working on job sites.
- Performance of ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and components
- Utilizes CMMS work order system to manage the timely completion of all preventative and corrective maintenance assignments.
- Repair/Replace/Install ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, floor tile, etc.
- Minor plumbing including unclogging drains, water leaks, etc.
- Minor HVAC including filter and belt change, etc.
- Minor electrical including lamp replacement, etc.
- Perform assigned facility rounds and due diligence efforts by being proactive; reporting on conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations; entering work orders for resolution.
- Be a member of the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building components and equipment.
- Provide best-in-class customer services to all Tenants and Agencies.
- Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
- Escorting vendors onsite to perform routine preventative maintenance or repairs.
- Must be willing and able to support any after-hours building related activity as required.
- Ensure that work is performed efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Must complete all required safety trainings as scheduled and on time.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule:
- 6PM - 6AM
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday
- This schedule rotates every week. Due to this rotation, 8 hours of overtime is paid on every biweekly paycheck.
- Must be willing and able to respond to any after-hours building-related activities as required.
Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Corrigo a plus.
- Experience in healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments a plus.
- 3+ years of working experience in Commercial or Industrial environments a plus.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Have entry level working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
- Perform strenuous labor and general maintenance activities.
- Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Proficient computer skills necessary to operate computer for general day to day work and communications.
- Ability to work independently as well as a productive member of a team.
- Ability to safely bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, and turn frequently.
- Must be able to: Hold and grip objects. Bend, squat, kneel, climb, crawl, and reach overhead. Work in awkward positions. Twist and turn torso. Push and pull up to 50 pounds. Distinguish primary colors. Subject to periods of prolonged standing. Perform work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding, including on roofs.
