Maintenance Manager

Location: Springfiled, Illinois (Must be local to the area)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate maintenance and contractor personnel in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment.
  • Consult with union representatives and human resources on common issues, including investigating grievances and assisting with resolutions.
  • Oversee parts inventory control and the inspection and maintenance of physical facilities and grounds.
  • Ensure all activities are performed safely and in compliance with established safety rules and good manufacturing practices.
  • Direct team members in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Mentor team members and assist in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Direct the unloading/loading, dismantling, assembling, installing, and testing of industrial machinery.
  • Develop and implement standard work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and reaction plans for routine tasks.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, facilitating effective individual and team problem-solving.
  • Manage team member performance to promote accountability and achieve business goals.
  • Manage work order control systems to prioritize and complete maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate activities with other plant leadership team members.
  • Manage predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Oversee department budget, including labor, parts, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Recommend organizational and departmental staffing structures.
  • Inspire creative and innovative thought processes among team members.
  • Work with the engineering manager to establish and manage department and project budgets.
  • Support safety initiatives, policies, and procedures, and manage assigned core safety programs.

Qualifications:

  • 2- or 4-year technical degree from a college or technical school; 5-8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related professional and progressive manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • 2+ years of prior technical team management experience with a proven track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring a diverse workforce.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and CAD Design.
  • Excellent interpersonal, managerial, and communication skills.
  • Expertise in technical consultancy with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude in planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising complex projects.
  • Proficiency in project management and control.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to keep track of activities and report on them.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the Consumer Product Goods industry.
