This position requires being onsite at our Alexandria office 4 days a week. This individual is managing an operation in place 24/7, therefore flexibility to be available as needed before/after normal business hours is expected.

About the role:

We're seeking an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair and optimization of the ITS infrastructure and subsystems, including traffic management systems.


You'll join an innovative team, who collaborates with others to manage co-dependent systems and design and test new system enhancements.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Manage staffing to provide 24 hours on call service for the various roadside systems.
  • Provide preventive/corrective maintenance activities for ITS devices across the North America assets. Includes establishing schedules and protocols for systems upkeep.
  • Maintain procedures for all activities related to the operation of the tolling system, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support Traffic Control Room operations and other stakeholders, including recommending system improvements.
  • Provide assistance and resources to US tolling asset's sub-contractors to facilitate maintenance and restoration works as required.
  • Work with ITS Operations Director to ensure that mitigation is put in place when documenting new risk and compliance issues.
  • Action service requests from the business or from other areas of Technology, ensuring all customers are kept informed of the status of their service requests.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of field maintenance operations processes, procedures, standards and methodologies.
  • This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:

    • 6+ years' experience in electrical/electronic knowledge of field systems to include installation, maintenance and repair of ITS, Electronic Toll Collection Systems, and Network Communications. Hands-on experience in leading ITS/Infrastructure support team, preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience defining processes and documenting procedures.
    • Proven expertise motivating teams and effectively delegating tasks to achieve organizational goals by setting clear expectations, recognizing achievements, and aligning individual contributions with company objectives.
    • Experience utilizing standard hand tools and electronic measurement equipment for the purposes of installation, troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance of electronic systems.
    • A thorough understanding of safety guidelines, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30, preferred.
    • Good interpersonal skills (written & oral) with the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to conceptualize complex computer systems.
    • Agility to handle the challenges of a varied role in a dynamic organization.
