Gpac is doing a search for a client company in Vermont that is seeking a Maintenance Engineer.
This family-owned food manufacturer has been in business for over 35 years. The company is expanding rapidly with a major facility expansion that is scheduled for the spring.

The ideal Maintenance Engineer would be someone very quick on their feet and have strong mechanical and electrical experience and at least 2 years maintenance experience within food production.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspection of premises and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Report any concerns or issues impacting food safety to Quality Assurance
- Compete equipment and structure repair as necessary in a timely manner
- Oversee visitors when outside contractors are needed for repairs
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine corrective action
- Order and install new equipment and parts
- Follow all equipment operating procedures when working in production areas
- Document all equipment repairs and preventive maintenance on applicable forms
- Ensure GMPs are being carried out
- Setup or modify equipment to assist with research and development of new products, equipment, and processes
- Support production staff with R&D tasks, identify obstacles, implement corrections, and help finalize outcomes
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Skilled in use of hand and power tools
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches and lifts
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electrical testing devices
- Experience performing routine maintenance and preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities
- Strong skills in organization, time management, follow-up, and attention to detail
- Ability to follow all appropriate personal and food safety standards in production
- Knowledge of basic math and reading comprehension skills
- Ability to work in temperatures at or below 50 degrees
- Shift is 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays
