Description: Purchases and stores spare parts for equipment and facility maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Properly generates purchase order and assigns identifying number.
- Orders parts based on consumption, mechanic requests, preventive maintenance schedule and special projects to maximize efficiency and minimize down time.
- Telephones, faxes, or contacts vendors by email or internet to order parts.
- Compares receivers against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received.
- Stores and maintains parts in storeroom bins,
- Keeps records of parts received and issued, and inventories parts in storeroom periodically.
- Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.
- Assists Projects Manager and Maintenance Manager with budgeting process as needed.
- Works cooperatively with Finance Department to ensure all maintenance related PO's are properly inputted, processed, and documented.
- Performs necessary reporting as required by management.
- Assists as needed with front desk phone/reception coverage.
- Follows instructions and responds to management and supervisor direction.
- Writes and speaks clearly and informatively and able to read and interpret written information.

Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient typing and computer skills and knowledge of Database software (MS Access); Internet software; Order processing systems (MP2); Spreadsheet software (MS Excel), Word Processing software (MS Word) and Email software (Groupwise).
