Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Location: Merrimack, NH 03054 & Jersey City, NJ, 07310/Hybrid, 3 days a week
Duration: 6+ Months
Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled COBOL Developer to join our team for a Mainframe Modernization project. The ideal candidate will have expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM, along with experience in modernizing legacy mainframe applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to analyze, enhance, and migrate existing applications while ensuring seamless functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, develop, and maintain COBOL-based applications within a CICS and DB2 environment.
  • Modify and enhance JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
  • Work with VSAM file structures and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Participate in mainframe modernization efforts, including migration to cloud/hybrid platforms.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and system architects to define modernization strategies.
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot mainframe-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for mainframe application development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in COBOL development with hands-on expertise in JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe modernization concepts and migration strategies.
  • Experience working in an IBM z/OS environment.
  • Familiarity with middleware integration between legacy and modern systems.
  • Ability to analyze legacy code and convert it into modular, optimized solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
