Fairview Health Services is hiring a MRI Technologist-Clinic to join our MRI department at our Imaging Center location in Maplewood, MN.

This position is eligible for a New Hire Sign-on Bonus up to $10,000

The Clinic MRI Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

Position details:

1.0FTE - 80 hours worked per two week pay period
Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 1:30PM to 10:00PM

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Performs excellent patient care and verify patient identification and documentation

Performs examinations and identifies relevant data from images accurately

Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs

Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional

Participates in creating a culture of patient safety

Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness

Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam

Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol

Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures

Ensures patient data integrity and adheres to diagnostic testing protocols/procedures

Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements., completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes

Follows infection control guidelines and serves as a resource for other healthcare team members

Responds appropriately to emergent situations

Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving

Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances

Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution

Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure

Participates as an active team member

Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives

Cleans and maintains room and supplies

Provides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.

Contributes to a positive work environment

Performs other duties as assigned

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.

Maintains a high level of competency

Follows MRI Safety protocols

Accepts new technology as it's introduced into the facility

Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations

Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served

Qualifications:

Required

Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Basic Life support - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire
Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements

Preferred

1 or more years
Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Advanced Certification in MRI
