SUMMARY: Join our dynamic team as a Machine Shop Supervisor, where you'll oversee the entire production process within our machine shop. This role involves managing machine shop personnel and ensuring efficient scheduling of operations and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Schedule, plan, and oversee all machine runs, maintenance, and operations for maximum efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and setup issues to maintain optimal workflow.
- Lead, monitor, and inspire machine operators to achieve high performance and morale.
- Create CAM layouts to facilitate effective machine operations.
- Maintain organized records of machine downtime and training schedules for staff development.
- Conduct inspections of machines and equipment to ensure they meet operational standards.
- Start and monitor machine operations, making adjustments as necessary to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to address and resolve machining or assembly challenges.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Required knowledge typically acquired through:
- A two-year degree or equivalent technical certification.
- Three to seven years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents.
- Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills to present information to diverse employee groups.
- Mathematical skills for handling probability, statistical inference, and geometrical concepts.
- Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to follow detailed instructions.
- Capable of addressing complex problems involving multiple variables.
