Job Overview: This role supervises and coordinates the activities of all team members engaged in the machining of parts and components that help in the testing and/or production of transmissions and torque converters. This includes managing workflow to maintain organization production, keeping staff motivated and troubleshooting any problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the department on 2nd shift (2:00 pm to 10:30 pm ) to ensure that workflow supports organization production.
  • Lead daily team meetings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any problems with production.
  • Assign work to team members, adjust workload as necessary to ensure optimal department productivity.
  • Meet with other department leaders during shift change to ensure smooth transition with the goal of maintaining strong production. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with the smooth operation of the Machine Shop department.
  • Responsible for communicating all policies and procedures and enforcing all safety regulations.
  • Train team members as necessary on various mills, lathes, and Swiss-type CNC machines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration procedures on department equipment to ensure optimum performance.
  • Create a positive work environment for team members. Treat all team members with respect.
  • Lead and manage the TCM production team, ensuring comprehensive knowledge and oversight of testing equipment, software applications, and operational procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in CNC machining, programming, and setup
  • At least two (2) years managing a department, with increasing levels of responsibility. Experience working in the automotive industry is desired.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and an understanding of G&M coding is required.
  • CNC certification is a plus
  • Exposure and/or a strong understanding of mills, lathes, and other machine shop equipment is strongly desired. Mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to convey ideas and programs. Positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with MS Office suite products
  • Ability to promote and live ETE Values daily. Willingness to learn.
