Location: Kent, WA Work Setup: OnsiteCompany & Role Overview Our client is at the forefront of spaceflight systems development, seeking a talented Machine Programmer to join our diverse team of specialists developing critical components for safe and repeatable spaceflight missions.
Machine Programmer Responsibilities - Create NC programs for CNC Mills, Lathes, Multi-axis mills, Multi-axis lathes, and VTLs to meet engineering requirements
- Develop machining strategies to transform design data into precisely machined hardware
- Design and manage set-up sheets for manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing engineers, and machinists
- Design custom tools and fixtures as needed for specialized applications
- Provide Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) feedback
- Implement process improvements for both machining inputs and administrative processes
- Conduct product acceptance according to company policy guidelines
- Maintain configuration control on files and job records
- Work safely within an industrial environment
Machine Programmer Minimum Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of experience in NC programming
- Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
- Tools and fixture design expertise
- Experience with set-up sheet creation and management
- Proficiency in cutter selection and design when needed
- Ability to calculate feeds and speeds accurately
- Experience working with Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Strong DFMA knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency with precision hand tools and personal computers
- Self-motivation to prioritize work and meet project deadlines
- Ability to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive culture
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Machine Programmer Preferred Qualifications - MasterCam X7 or higher experience
- Unigraphics NX experience
- Vericut or other program verification software experience
- Machinist experience
- Ability to set up and operate CNC machines
