Location: Rumford, RI
Position: Machine Operator
Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with Friday overtime as needed)
Job Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is hiring experienced Machine Operators to set up, operate, and maintain roll stand machines in a manufacturing environment. This role includes equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and ensuring smooth production while following safety procedures and completing accurate paperwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate machines safely and efficiently
Set up machines according to product specifications
Load and thread paper into machines
Adjust slitter blades and cut-off saws as needed
Sharpen blades and perform mechanical adjustments
Perform preventive maintenance (cleaning, greasing, inspections)
Maintain a clean and organized production area
Minimize downtime between setups
Assist in other areas of the plant when required
Technical Requirements:
Experience with gears, chains, and equipment maintenance
Knowledge of vacuum systems
Familiarity with hot melt glue systems
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret product specs and blueprints
Strong math skills and ability to use a tape measure
Able to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods
Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime
Forklift and mechanical experience preferred
Basic Excel and scanner use is a plus
Must have a clean background (no criminal record)
