Do you like being part of new things? We do. We are looking for an experienced Machine Operator with experience in preventative machine maintenance, using hand tools, and strong attention to detail to be a part of our client's team. The Machine Operator will oversee the production of a new, proprietary product. The Machine Operator will use measuring devices to ensure the quality and specifications of the product. The Machine Operator will use hand tools to calibrate, adjust, and perform simple preventative maintenance on the machinery. To be successful in this role, the Machine Operator will need to be open to continuous learning, prepared to work in a collaborative environment, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and will take the initiative to do things outside of their primary job function.

Responsibilities:

  • Keeps work area(s) neat, establishes and maintains locations for supplies and equipment, stocks work areas with essential supplies as they are depleted.
  • Needs to understand what each machine in the process is doing and how it can or will impact the product.
  • Need to be available to cover on and off shift handoff and breaks for other team-mates.
  • Need to be willing to actively train new employees.
  • This role will involve working in all areas of the plant and doing other tasks in addition to the primary job description, like cleaning machines and basic maintenance.
  • Forklift operation (preferred not required)
  • Computer use for assigning materials, reporting production, reporting non-conformances, answering and sending emails, looking up documents, and entering test results.

Skills/Knowledge

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate, diploma or degree is a plus
  • Effective communication, including speaking, writing, active listening and taking instruction
  • Advanced knowledge of following blueprints, manuals, work instructions, and other work guides
  • Excellent mechanical skills, including comfort with using tools to make simple repairs
  • Use of measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.) and competence working in the metric system
