Machine Maintenance Technician Details and Compensation:
- Location: Sumter, SC 29153 - 100% on-site
- Payrate: $21.50/hr
- Required Availability: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM 3-on, 2-off, 2-on, 3-off
Machine Maintenance Technician Summary and Highlights:
The Machine Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Machine Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Repair machine breakdowns quickly and accurately
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting to resolve speed, waste, or performance issues
- Maintain and optimize equipment performance
- Document maintenance activities and equipment downtime in logs
- Conduct preventative maintenance per schedule or operational need
- Perform in-process quality checks and address defects promptly
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
- Support upstream and downstream production teams
- Observe all safety, environmental, and quality system requirements
Machine Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- 1+ of mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance experience required
- Experience with car or boat engines, HVAC systems, or machining
- Background in high-speed manufacturing environments
- Understanding of low-voltage electronics and sensors
- Hands-on experience with tools like feeler gauges to measure tolerances, torque, and clearances
- Familiarity with cams, gearboxes, bushings, conveyors, vacuum systems, pneumatic components, and ball-valves
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Must pass vision and color test (20/30 vision with or without correction)
