Machine Maintenance Technician Details and Compensation:

  • Location: Sumter, SC 29153 - 100% on-site
  • Payrate: $21.50/hr
  • Required Availability: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM 3-on, 2-off, 2-on, 3-off

Machine Maintenance Technician Summary and Highlights:

The Machine Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment.

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Machine Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

  • Repair machine breakdowns quickly and accurately
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting to resolve speed, waste, or performance issues
  • Maintain and optimize equipment performance
  • Document maintenance activities and equipment downtime in logs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance per schedule or operational need
  • Perform in-process quality checks and address defects promptly
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
  • Support upstream and downstream production teams
  • Observe all safety, environmental, and quality system requirements

Machine Maintenance Technician Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
  • 1+ of mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance experience required
  • Experience with car or boat engines, HVAC systems, or machining
  • Background in high-speed manufacturing environments
  • Understanding of low-voltage electronics and sensors
  • Hands-on experience with tools like feeler gauges to measure tolerances, torque, and clearances
  • Familiarity with cams, gearboxes, bushings, conveyors, vacuum systems, pneumatic components, and ball-valves
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Must pass vision and color test (20/30 vision with or without correction)
