Location: Countryside, IL
Pay Range: $28-$32/hr (possible flexibility up to mid-$30s for highly experienced candidates)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Type: 6-month contract-to-hire

About the Role
As a Machine Builder , you'll play a key role in assembling high-speed, industrial automation systems from start to finish. You'll work with detailed engineering drawings, build subassemblies and full systems, and ensure each machine meets the precision standards customers expect.

You'll assemble:

  • Structural frames and machine bases

  • Drive systems, motors, shafts, drums, and rolls

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic components

  • Sensors, brackets, guarding, and safety components

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced shop setting, is confident interpreting mechanical drawings, and takes pride in building machines that are built to last. Over time, you may also support field installs and on-site customer projects-travel up to 15% once converted is expected.

What They're Looking For
Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a machine builder or industrial equipment assembler (open to strong 3-4 year profiles)

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings and BOMs

  • Skilled in assembling mechanical systems from the ground up

  • Comfortable working with hand tools, measuring tools (calipers, micrometers), and lifting equipment

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to work a 6 AM-2:30 PM shift and open to overtime when needed

  • Willingness to travel up to 15% after full-time conversion

Nice-to-Have:

  • Forklift or crane operation experience

  • Prior experience with packaging, conveyor, or OEM machinery

  • Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, and alignment of drive components

  • Previous ERP or shop scheduling software experience

  • Cutting tools and miscellaneous supplies
  • Rebuilding high performance engines including quality control checks and final fitting of new parts, component sub-assembly as well as teardown, inspection and measuring components
  • Assemble electrical panels for high speed assembly machinery Wire machinery Build control panels

  • Make judgmental calls on complicated tool repairs
  • Install conduit boxes, outlets and other accessories

  • Assembly and/or inspect components and devices
  • Len for predetermined amount of time according to lens material
  • Built and an assembled based on specifications
  • Fabricate and assemble piping systems, motors, electrical systems
  • Come in every day and connect with the team to get the job assignments for the day
  • Fabricate and assemble all tooling pertaining to custom machine automation including tooling prints, production prints
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the Custom Lead
  • Participating in industry trade shows and maintaining an active Associate Membership
