Pay Package:

Gross Weekly: $1,716/week (48 hrs)

Breakdown:

W2 (Taxable): $33/hour

Shift: Day & Night 4x12-Hour

Assignment Length: 8 to 13 weeks

Job Description:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Medical-Surgical Unit will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or physician. The role involves assessing patient needs, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with treatments and procedures, and ensuring quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical unit, assisting with daily activities, hygiene, and mobility.
Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as per physician's orders and facility protocols.
Monitor vital signs, intake/output, pain levels, and overall patient conditions.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
Assist RNs and physicians with procedures, wound care, and post-operative care.
Educate patients and families on post-hospital care, medications, and discharge instructions.
Maintain infection control and aseptic techniques in all patient interactions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RNs, physicians, therapists, and case managers, to develop patient care plans.

Required Qualifications:

Active LPN license in the state of New York (or compact license if applicable).
BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required.
Minimum 2+ year of LPN experience in Med-Surg, Acute Care, or a Hospital Setting preferred.
Proficiency in EMR charting systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) preferred.
Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
