REPORTS TO: Director of Food Services

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Ability to read and follow basic directions
2) Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
3) Must show good rapport with students and staff
4) Must obtain a Food Handlers or Sanitation Certificate

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES; HOSTESS

1) Assist in the preparation of specifically identified foods as determined by the Director of
Food Services; for example, french fries.

2) Assist in serving food in a quick and pleasant manner.

3) Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.

4) Assume responsibility for seeing to it that during meal service periods the supply of
foods offered are replenished regularly.

5) Assist in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and service area.

6) Perform major cleaning on major equipment on a periodic basis as established by the
Director of Food Services which will require heavy lifting and considerable scrubbing
(rubbing) and continuous standing.

7) Serve food to staff and students in various capacities.

8) Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused food.

9) Position requires frequent heavy lifting of containers of food and supplies.

10) Position requires performance under adverse heat conditions.
11) Position requires a hands-on approach to accomplish the various duties.

12) Position requires bending, climbing, and continuous standing.

13) Must be able to lift up to forty pounds.

14) Responsible for working with all District personnel to provide a harmonious
operation of the School District.

15) Perform any and all duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES; SUPERVISOR

1) Organize students into orderly lines for purchasing food, and see that they go to assigned tables.

2) Help students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition.

3) Assist younger students with use of utensils when needed.

4) Organize students for orderly disposal of food wastes, trays, and utensils.

5) Circulate among the tables during the meal period so as to be available to help children who need
help and to resolve any minor problems that arise.

6) Call immediately for principal and/or designee in the event of any argument involving more than two
students; any incident involving physical confrontation; or any incident that appears to be more than
momentary disruption.

7) Supervise students in the lunchroom and playground area after lunch is over to ensure the safety of
all the children.

8) Responsible for working with all District personnel to provide a harmonious operation of the
School District.

9) Supervise children during their lunch period for the safety factor and sanitary conditions which could
potentially injure a child.

10) Perform any and all duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services.

SALARY: As determined by the Board of Education

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions on the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
