Position Overview:
Express Employment is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Lumber & Building Materials Sales Representative to join a reputable local company. This role involves working closely with contractors, builders, and DIY customers to provide product recommendations, generate sales, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with customers to assess their needs and recommend appropriate lumber and building materials.
Provide product knowledge and offer technical advice on building materials, tools, and related supplies.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, construction professionals, and retail customers.
Manage sales transactions, including quotations, order entry, and follow-ups.
Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist in stock management.
Collaborate with team members to meet sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction.
Stay informed on industry trends, new products, and building regulations.
Measure and estimate projects for clients.
Partner with customers to develop long-term relationships, generate additional sales, and guide problem resolution.
Attend state and industry conventions, training, and marketing-based activities.
Assist in the operations of the Lumber Yard as needed.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license is required.
Previous sales experience in the lumber or building materials industry preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, practices, and blueprint reading.
Ability to estimate and sell projects effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task in a pressured environment while maintaining a customer-oriented demeanor.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with office systems.
Self-directed and able to prioritize and meet deadlines with professional quality results.
Ability to think proactively, anticipate customer needs, and close sales.
Benefits:
$24.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE.
