This position involves floating between inpatient medical units and outpatient clinics, practicing practical nursing under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. Responsibilities include:
Collecting data and participating in patient care planning and evaluation for all ages. Developing patient databases and interdisciplinary care plans. Identifying educational needs of patients and caregivers. Implementing therapeutic treatment plans and administering medications. Advocating for patients' rights and providing support. Contributing to performance improvement activities and mentoring others. Requirements include graduation from an accredited practical nursing program, Virginia licensure, and BLS certification. Orientation and competency completion are mandatory.
