Responsibilities Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Opportunity - Days Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to children, adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our three outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression. Visit us online at: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides & assists in direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) as prescribed by the physician & the treatment team. Provides medical management of patients. Assists RN with environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population. Works with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Evaluate, plan, and implement nursing care and milieu programming for patients under the supervision of RN. Administer medication and treatment as prescribed according to departmental procedure. Adhere to Joint Commission and facility guidelines on, among other things, look alike/sound alike medications and patient identifiers. Document nursing care and treatment progression through timely and accurate chart entries. Patient notes reflect the full range of needs, including cultural, spiritual, growth and development, initial status, changes and progress in all areas. Provide and document patient and family education. Lead nurse education groups and complete documentation. Take and record vital signs, both manually and with equipment. Perform phlebotomy. Complete EKGs as directed. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) as needed. Assimilate patient to the unit upon admission. Monitor for patient contraband and complete room searches. Orient patients to the unit & facility with emphasis on procedures & standard practices. Complete chart checks as assigned. May be assigned to Mental Health Technician (MHT) and 1:1's duties. Qualifications Requirements: Graduate of an accredited LPN program Six (6) months experience as a patient care provider, preferably in an acute behavioral setting preferred.
