What you will be doing

As a Loss Prevention Supervisor, you will promote and implement the workable, realistic Loss Prevention programs that foster a safe working environment for our Supply Chain associates, as well as protecting Company assets.To prevent loss by monitoring and assisting management with loss prevention related activities throughout the complex and ensuring that company and distribution center policies and procedures are maintained with the assistance of technology, strategies, and training programs within the scope of the company core values, while working closely with Supply Chain Operations and division level associates.

The position will be based full time onsite in Melrose Park, IL

Main responsibilities
  • Supervises Communication Operators, and Loss Prevention personnel.
  • Ensures that work schedules provide proper security coverage.
  • Manages, coaches, trains, and develop subordinates.
  • Implements loss prevention programs.
  • Promotes adherence to Company policies/procedures; familiarize associates with Company rules and regulations.
  • Identifies problems related to security equipment, vehicles and alarms and takes corrective action.
  • Protects associates, visitors, and Company property against theft, illegal entry, and illegal activities.
  • Monitors card access/alarm systems for proper function and procedures.
  • Maintains formal and informal channels of communication through the organization.
  • Encourages the expression of new ideas, suggestions, and constructive criticism.
  • Crisis Management: 24/7 responsibility to respond to all Supply Chain and Support Center emergencies.
  • Communicates security needs and problems to DC LP and Complex management.
  • Conducts and/or coordinates the security inspection of all facilities, including after hours.
  • Conducts and/or coordinates the security inspection of distribution security processes, including Seals, Padlock, Access, Shipping Audits, Load Integrity, Shipping and Receiving Controls, Driver Performance via Company GPS tracking, etc.
  • Responds to and assists emergency responders and management with maintaining order and safety of personnel in the event of an emergency.
  • Makes decision for his/her shift regarding: apprehension of associates found stealing, readiness of security guards and on the job performance, allocation of work, conducting audits, etc.
  • Monitors progress of the established safety program and makes recommendation to ensure effectiveness in terms of prevention.
  • Assists in accident investigations as necessary.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with the Safety Department.
  • Assists and conducts tornado, fire, and other crisis drills.
  • Conducts Loss Prevention related investigations.
  • Actively involved in the Best Lock program for the Melrose Park complex.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Oversees yard management system performance through the gate officers
  • Conducts inventory of the assets in the truck yard, weekly
  • Responsible for training officers in the use of various DC software / warehouse management systems to assist in-door dock assignments for 3rd party deliveries
What you bring to the table:
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Two (2) years prior experience working in security or loss prevention operations, required; experience working within a distribution or warehouse environment, strongly preferred.
  • College level education focused on criminal justice, preferred.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Possess the initiative to help create and nurture a world class Loss Prevention Team through training programs, promotion of the Department, identification of high achievers, etc.
  • Possess the ability to motivate work with and through others to achieve desired results. Must have the ability to represent the Company's interest in outside parties.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate consistent and timely follow through.
  • Excellent de-escalation skills and comfort with having difficult and/or confrontational interactions and conversations.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of Supervisor.
  • Exercise good judgment and initiative to prioritize and handle multiple projects
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to make effective presentations before groups. Possess strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of people, both in person and over the telephone.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply the information contained in company manuals, policies and practices
The salary range is $73,500-$80,000 annually.
Starting salary may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits may include healthcare, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (401(k) eligibility).
