Job Description:
The Logistics Technician will work as part of the logistics team to maintain high performance for all departmental standards, including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security, and productivity.
Responsibilities will include receiving shipments, transferring materials to and from storage locations, packaging and palletizing products, and other tasks necessary for an efficient shipping and warehousing operation.
The Material Handler must aim to achieve high customer service standards consistently. In addition, this person will also be expected to work proactively on multiple tasks with autonomy.
The work schedule is 8 hours, 1st shift, and/or possibly modified 1st shift to support late afternoon shipments.
Overtime work may be needed periodically.

Responsibilities:
Drive a culture of "Do It Safely, Do It Right the First Time " with their actions and their words daily.
Through observation of work area(s), it is alert to and avoids unsafe behaviors and conditions or other hazards. Report any observed hazards to the supervisor.
Strictly adhere to all safety policies, including, but not limited to, HAZWOPER, Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), and LOTO policies.
Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
Safely and efficiently operates their assigned tasks to meet the day-to-day productivity goals of the team.
Follow all work processes and work instructions relevant to specific assignments.
Prepare cylinders for shipments (Removing Old Labels, Painting, inspecting/checking, Wrapping Valve Labeling With Appropriate Information Per the client and D.O.T. requirements, Barcode Scanning, Loading On Pallets, etc.).
Perform shipping and receiving related ERP (SAP HANA) transactions.
Ensure the accuracy of all transactions within ERP (SAP HANA) to ensure accurate data for operational efficiency.
Prepare shipping paperwork according to the client's Policy and D.O.T. regulations.
Contact Common Carriers and client locations to coordinate the delivery and pickup of cylinders and other materials.
The ship receives and delivers supplies, materials, and equipment.
Operate a forklift to load and unload carrier trucks.
Load and unload sea containers, including appropriate blocking and bracing in line with IMO, IMDG, and Customs requirements.
Maintain Inventory Control records.
Conduct inventory cycle counts.
Collaborating with internal departments to locate a cylinder or canisters.
Verifying the accuracy of the quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular inspections.
Escalates any potential Safety or Quality concerns.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA and MSDS Standards.
Complete all assigned training.
Ability to roll cylinders - Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
Fitness for duty, including but not limited to the ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management).
Ability to roll cylinders that weigh up to 200 lbs - Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
Ability to work at both ALAM Pennsylvania sites.
Logistics Technician must be certified to drive a forklift.
Strong customer service orientation.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols.
Ability to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases.
Experience in filing IMO, AES, and ISF.
Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus and adapt to various challenges.
Must be organized with attention to detail and the ability to follow directions to meet deadlines.
The Logistics Technician must have good written and verbal communication skills and be capable of regular interaction with all support departments.
Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Computer literate with Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides.
Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
Perform all required training as they are assigned.

Fitness for duty, including but not limited to the ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.

Work Conditions:
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Ensure that no alarms or interlocks are bypassed.
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA and MSDS Standards.

Physical Qualifications:
Must be able to move around a large warehouse for eight or more hours in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to climb ladders.
Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods.
Must be clean-shaven and able to pass a medical respiratory test and a physical test to wear a full-face respirator as required.

Education:
High School Diploma/GED required.

Qualifications:
SAP experience preferred but not necessary.
