Volt is immediately hiring for Material Handler in Houston, TX.

As a Material Handler you will:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and shipments against purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  • Safely load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
  • Organize and store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring easy access and proper inventory control.
  • Use material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors) to move materials within the warehouse or production area.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, following safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Prepare materials for shipment by packing, labeling, and ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, following all applicable safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to prioritize orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Assist in the unloading of incoming shipments and verify the quantity and condition of materials.
  • Participate in cycle counts, stock rotations, and other inventory control activities.
  • Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions or damage to supervisors.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the logistics or warehouse manager.
This is a full-time opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling equipment.
  • Skills in operating forklifts, using warehouse management software (WMS), and performing stock audits.
  • Must obtain forklift certification within 1 week to operate motorized equipment and all types of forklifts safely.
  • Ability to work voluntary/mandatory overtime as business dictates.
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal & written instructions provided by ECM training lead, department lead & department supervisor.
  • Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands: lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, working in varying temperatures, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
