Duties This position is part of the Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for Direct, develop and perform multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission. As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-4 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include: Assist with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission. Identify the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives. Correlate PM objectives with Program plans to assure that the required logistics support is provided at the right time and place. Coordinate and evaluate logistics support in accordance with Performance Based Logistics (PBL) to identify and execute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions required to meet each requirement on time. Research and develop Department of Defense (DoD) and MDA logistics directives and instructions. Coordinate with higher level specialists to jointly research and develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focusing on delivering a Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) capability that is effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements. Incumbent must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months. This position may be eligible for part-time or situational telework at the discretion of management. Qualifications You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 broadband grade level in the Federal service: Applicants are required to meet 3 of 5 statements in order to be qualified. Providing support with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission. Applying logistics processes, policies, procedures, and practices necessary to develop and assess technical and economic feasibility, including cost, schedule and performance for major weapon system programs. Identifying and applying the concepts, policies, and practices of logistics management as they apply to new and in-service systems during all acquisition phases of the life cycle. Providing operations and sustainment for an IT or Command and Control (C2) system. Researching, planning, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and briefing logistics actions in support of leadership's goals and vision. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
