What you'll be doing:

As a Logistics Coordinator, you'll be responsible for coordinating freight movements, optimizing transportation efficiency, and supporting internal and external partners to ensure seamless execution across our supply chain. Working closely with our outside sales, inside sales, and carrier partners, the Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in delivering exceptional service and executing freight strategy using our Transportation Management System (TMS).

Your key responsibilities will include:

Freight Coordination & Carrier Management

  • Plan and schedule freight shipments to meet customer delivery expectations while minimizing cost and maximizing operational efficiency.

  • Monitor carrier performance and contribute to monthly evaluations and scorecard reviews.
  • Partner with freight providers to reduce costs, improve service levels, and support sustainability and efficiency initiatives.
  • Manage freight class accuracy for LTL shipments to avoid reclassifications and unnecessary costs.
  • Approve or flag additional freight charges as needed based on rate agreements and shipment details.

Customer & Carrier Support

  • Act as a day-to-day contact for carrier and customer inquiries related to shipment scheduling, routing, and execution.
  • Support resolution of in-transit issues in partnership with our dedicated track & trace team.
  • Proactively communicate any delivery exceptions or delays to internal stakeholders and external partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Outside Sales, Inside Sales, and Accounting teams to ensure aligned communication and efficient order flow.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across departments and with external partners to support a high-performing supply chain.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to support ongoing enhancements to TMS (Freightview) and transportation processes.

The skills and expertise you will bring to the role:

Our most successful employees are those that can wear many hats, work seamlessly with a variety of people, and can see what needs to be done-and just gets it done.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience supporting outside sales, inside sales, or account management within a distribution sales environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills, with the ability to act decisively under pressure.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong sense of urgency with proven time management and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
