Logistics Clerk 1 - East Providence, RI
  • Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Clerk will be responsible for shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities. This is a very busy and physically demanding position.
Expected Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process large quantity customer orders according to the shipping schedule, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Ensure Packing Slip aligns with what is physically shipping to what ERP system reads.
  • Generate shipping labels, part labels, and required documentation.
  • Utilize ERP systems and warehouse technology to efficiently locate, process, and ship products.
  • Receive and verify incoming shipments from vendors to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of finished goods, optimizing storage for accessibility and efficiency.
  • Organize documentation, including shipping records, statements of origin, and compliance paperwork.
  • Navigate various shipping platforms for major carriers, ensuring cost-effective and reliable transportation.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve warehouse and shipping processes.
  • Other responsibilities as required

  • MUST be considered a U.S. Person eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school degree or equivalency required.
  • 1-2 years logistics experience
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, or any logistics management software
  • Experience with customer portals and logistics vendors (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • General time management, and communications skills.
  • Ability to keep workspace clean and adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • General office and manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read the documentation and verify laser marks match with paperwork in English.
  • The ability to confirm that the packing slips match COFC.
  • Capacity to lift, push, and pull items 50 pounds.
  • Capability to use a hand truck and other assistive devices for items over 50 pounds
  • Requires frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Prolonged standing on hard surfaces during shift
  • Repetitive hand movements for tasks like packaging and receiving.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms, machinery sounds, or verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
  • Visual acuity for reading labels, slips COFC, laser markings, parts and other packaging
  • Will be required to wear appropriate PPE as outlined by company safety protocols.
