Qualifications

SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES

1. Responsible for the overall supervision of the Lodge Front Desk & Gift Shop. This includes vendor relations, inventory, budget control, quality control and sale of merchandise & lodge rooms.

2. Will assist in interviewing and selection, performance management (coaching/disciplining) and the evaluations performance of the employees.

3. Will ensure the clerks follow all PKC and Lodge policies and procedures and ensure that staff are familiar with casino and lodge promotions to ensure guest is receiving proper room rate.

4. Must promote positive guest relations through the effective resolution of guest complaints in the absence of the Director of Resort Operations.

5. Must ensure payment for lodge rooms is secured and revenue accurately recorded.

6. Must review guest accounts and charges with guests and make corrections, if needed.

7. Responsible for purchasing and establishing a price structure for merchandise that reflects the local market. They will be responsible for merchandise display and the general upkeep and cleanliness of the Gift Shop.

8. Will be responsible for any other related duties that may be required, including supervision of the lodge front desk and switchboard when the Director of Resort Operations is absent and cross-training at lodge front desk and switchboard. May be required to assist in other departments when necessary or for training purposes. Be RBS certified and practice this knowledge on a daily basis.

9. Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.

10. Other duties as assigned.

PREREQUISITES

General: Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Non-Gaming license. Math test required.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace.

Experience: Previous experience in retail sales, inventory, hotel management desired

with experience in supervision preferred. Knowledge of cash register and credit card machines. Must possess sufficient arithmetic skills and can make monetary transactions and credit transactions accurately. Must be comfortable working with guests and employees. Must support the local market in sourcing arts/crafts.

Skills: Must be familiar with word processing. Must be comfortable approaching people, speaking with strangers and be able to handle conflicts and problem resolution calmly and effectively during high conflict situations or high volumes of traffic.

Physical: Requires standing for long periods of up to four (4) hours in length; bending, reaching, walking, finger dexterity, grasping and repetitive motions; normal vision acuity (or corrected to normal), including hearing. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
