Certifications Required:
- Board Certified through ANCC or AANP
- DEA
- BLS (hands-on preferred, willing to take a course if not)
- Maryland State Licensure
Experience:
- Preferred: 5 years of clinical experience as an NP, with 2 years in hospice/palliative care
- Must be able to provide hospice/palliative care independently
- Open to candidates with any hospice/palliative care experience
Start Date: ASAP (within 2-4 weeks after credentialing)
Duration: 13 weeks, with potential to extend
Schedule:
- Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5pm (30 min lunch)
- Two clinic days (Tues/Thurs)
- One afternoon of in-person visits at a SNF
- Remaining time for virtual work
On-call/Callback: None
Rate: $65 - $75/hour

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with physicians to manage medical care for hospice/palliative patients
Conduct telehealth visits and in-person clinic visits
Prescribe medications, including opioids
Act as a medical resource for the interdisciplinary team
Review patient eligibility for hospice services
Certify terminal illness in conjunction with attending physicians
Provide consultative services to hospice staff and attending physicians

Additional Information:

Patient Volume: Up to 8 patients per day (mostly virtual)
EMR System: Netsmart MyUnity (training provided)
Support Staff: LPN and full-time admin assistant, collaborative MD/DO, reporting to CMO
