Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as Medical Director for a two-hospital system's pathology department
- Perform surgical pathology and hematopathology diagnoses
- Oversee and manage clinical laboratory operations
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and quality standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Provide expert consultation to clinicians on complex cases
- Implement and maintain quality assurance programs
- Supervise and mentor pathology staff and residents
- Participate in tumor boards and clinical conferences
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Epic EHR system
- Contribute to continuous improvement of pathology services
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in pathology and laboratory medicine
Additional Information:
- Must be licensed to practice medicine in Rhode Island
- AP/CP Board Certification required
- Fellowship training or extensive experience in Hematopathology preferred
- Strong general pathology background essential
- Excellent communication and leadership skills required
- Familiarity with Epic EHR system is advantageous
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and types across multiple facilities
