About The Position Barton is are seeking a skilled Internal Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in Maine. This 90-day assignment starts on 05/12/2025, with flexible scheduling options of either four 10-hour days (Tuesday-Friday) or five 8-hour days (Monday-Friday). The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a full panel of internal medicine patients, focusing on common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and acute care symptoms. This role offers a balanced work-life schedule with no nights, weekends, holidays, or call-back duties. Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage a full panel of internal medicine patients
• Diagnose and treat common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and COPD
• Address acute care symptoms for internal medicine patients
• Perform routine physical examinations and health screenings
• Develop and implement treatment plans for chronic conditions
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results
• Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness
• Provide patient education on disease prevention and health maintenance
• Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers as needed
• Utilize Meditech EHR system and paper charts for patient documentation
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in internal medicine
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives in the department
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
Additional Information:
• Must be board-certified in Internal Medicine
• Active Maine medical license required
• Experience with Meditech EHR system preferred but not required
• Strong clinical skills in managing common internal medicine conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a hospital setting
• Comfortable managing a diverse adult patient population
• Flexibility to adapt to the hospital's scheduling options
• Minimal procedural work required
