Locum Physician

Job Title: Physician Assistant Profession: Physician Assistant Specialty: Surgery - General Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: Four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts Experience: 2 years of PA work experience required (not including training) License: Oregon License - Highly Preferred Certifications: Board Certified Must-Have: - Customer-service oriented - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Maintains confidentiality - Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patients, families, and other healthcare staff - Takes personal responsibility for ongoing educational growth Description: An experienced Physician Assistant is sought to support surgical services and collaborate with physicians in delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves working in various surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, and ENT. The Physician Assistant will perform procedures, assist in surgery, and conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice. Responsibilities include assisting in room setup and turnover, maintaining proper sterile techniques in surgery, and assisting the operative team as directed. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with patients, families, and staff from various departments. Candidates must possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly to unexpected patient care needs. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking. Responsibilities include maintaining regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, as well as adhering to procedures for patient safety and confidentiality. Candidates should also have basic computer skills and be adaptable to ongoing educational requirements. Flexibility in shift choice between four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts is available.
