JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Alexandria, LA Service Setting: Emergency Room Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 6+ months Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon-Wed: 7 AM 5 PM, 10 AM 8 PM, 3 PM 1 AM, 4 PM 12 AM, 8 PM 7 AM Thurs-Sun: 7 AM 5 PM, 10 AM 9 PM, 4 PM 2 AM, 8 PM 7 AM PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Mixed emergency room population Patient Volume: 135 patients/day ( 49,500 annually) EMS Percentage: 30% Admission Rate: 22% FACILITY INFORMATION ED Beds: 42 beds Specialty Backup: Robust on-site specialty backup available Scribe Coverage: Yes, 10 hours/day EMR System: Meditech (transitioning to EPIC in March 2025) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Privileging Timeframe: 90 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Hourly Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging and Malpractice Insurance covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES General emergency medicine procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS Licensure: Active state Louisiana license Board Certification: ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM (if FM trained, must show proof of working in an ED for the past 2 years) Certifications: ATLS (required for FM-trained physicians but not EM), ACLS, and PALS DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency care across a wide variety of cases Collaborate with on-site staff and specialty backups to ensure high-quality patient care Utilize scribe support for documentation Participate in onboarding, including EMR training and SCP orientation with a shadow shift
