Job Requirements Requirements • Unrestricted North Carolina NP license with PMHNP certification
• BLS, ACLS, and DEA certification required
• Minimum 1 year post-licensure experience in psychiatric or correctional settings (preferred)
• Proficiency with EMR systems (HERO preferred)
• Must be able to function effectively in a secure environment
Key Responsibilities • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and crisis interventions for incarcerated adults
• Diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications according to facility protocols
• Monitor and adjust treatment based on patient response
• Document all clinical interactions using the HERO EMR system
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and correctional staff
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and team meetings
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DAC regulations, and PREA standards
• Facilitate referrals for higher levels of care when necessary
