About The Position

Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Locum Tenens Opportunity - Paducah, KY

Rhino Medical is actively seeking Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) and Physician Assistants (PA-C) with Critical Care experience for a locum tenens opportunity in Paducah, KY. This assignment offers competitive compensation, strong subspecialty support, and the opportunity to be part of a new intensivist program.

Opportunity Details:

• Location: Paducah, KY
• Contract Type: Critical Care APP Locum Tenens
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift Schedule:
  • On-Site Coverage: 12 hours per day (likely 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • On-Call Coverage: 12 hours per night (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with on-site APC support
  • Minimum Commitment: 15 shifts per month
  • Weekend-Only Candidates Considered
  • Temp Privileges Available for Eligible Providers
• Practice Setting: Closed ICU Model - Critical Care Team
• Facility Details:
  • 24 ICU Beds (12 ICU + 12 CCU)
  • 17 patient encounters/day
  • Robust subspecialty backup

Patient Load & Flow:

• Total Census per Provider During the Day: 17
• Total Patient Census Covered at Night: 17 (with on-site APP and on-call MD support)

Provider Requirements:

• Certification:
  • Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
• Licensure: Active & Unrestricted KY State License & DEA
• Required Certifications: ACLS
• Experience:
  • Significant experience in Critical Care required
  • Ability to independently manage patients in an ICU setting

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Procedures Required:
  • Intubation
  • Central Lines
  • Arterial Lines
  • Bronchoscopy and Thoracentesis preferred
• Code Response:
  • APPs will respond to all codes
  • Intensivist available for backup support
