About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Colorado, starting 07/14/2025. This opportunity involves working in a mental health facility, specifically in an Acute Treatment Unit (ATU) with several beds for adults experiencing psychiatric or mental health crises. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-5:00pm. The NP will be responsible for obtaining medical histories and physicals, monitoring glucose levels and medication effects, and performing other essential duties in a mental health setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations

• Monitor patients' glucose levels

• Observe and document effects of medications

• Collaborate with the mental health team to ensure comprehensive patient care

• Manage and treat acute medical conditions in psychiatric patients

• Contribute to treatment plans for patients in psychiatric crisis

• Ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions and treatments

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Colorado

• Experience in mental health settings is preferred

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, crisis-oriented environment is essential

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Smartcare, is beneficial
