We are a high earning, GMS, training practice based in Wrexham, North Wales. Wrexham is a lovely town situated between Cheshire and the Welsh hills, surrounded by beautiful countryside. We are within easy access of Chester and the North West of England.
We are a large, friendly, dedicated practice committed to providing high-quality clinical care for our patients, while also caring for our doctors. Due to a rapidly expanding patient population, we are seeking forward-thinking, team-oriented doctors to join us.
- List size: 14,200+
- Excellent team including 5 GP partners, 2-3 registrars, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 4 letter readers, and 2 read coders
- Admin staff and nurses trained to perform specific tasks to reduce doctors' workload, such as prescribing, read coding, and documentation
- Signposting service for on-the-day appointment requests managed by our medical reception team and ANPs
- In-house facilities including minor surgery, joint injections, contraception (coils/implants), anticoagulation services, and DVLA medicals
- Use of Emis Web, Docman, and Accurx
- Training practice for GPs, currently with 2 GP registrars, and training pharmacists and nurses as independent prescribers
Job responsibilities
- Registration with GMC and inclusion on the GP register or imminent inclusion
- Registration with the Welsh Performers list
- Fulfillment of usual revalidation and license to practice requirements
- Employment based on the modified BMA contract
- Availability for a variety of duties including surgery, face-to-face and telephone consultations, home visits, prescription management, and administrative tasks, as per the practice timetable
- Making autonomous, professional decisions regarding patient care
- Assessing undifferentiated and undiagnosed health problems
- Screening for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Recording clear, contemporaneous consultation notes
- Data collection for audits and compliance with QUAIF requirements
- Delivering enhanced services
- Issuing computer-generated prescriptions, avoiding handwritten ones when possible
- Prescribing according to practice formulary or generically when appropriate
- Adhering to practice policies on prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and safety
- Engaging in lifelong learning and audit for evidence-based practice
- Participating in evaluation, audit, and standard setting within the organization
- Contributing to the development of electronic patient records and Read-Coding
Person Specification Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCGP or on the GP register
- Membership of the Welsh Performers list or willingness to join
- Up-to-date appraisal and revalidation
- Access to a car and a valid driving license for home visits and travel
- Special interests are welcome
- Enthusiasm and a hardworking attitude to contribute to the practice
