Job Summary: The Local IT Support Specialist is responsible for monitoring and performing information services-related activities following established procedures under the supervision and direction of the Site Manager. The role requires utilizing decision-making skills to diagnose various situations and problems that may arise.
Responsibilities: - PC and Network Support: Install, configure, and support all PC-related components to ensure client hardware supports the information systems architecture.
- Purchasing: IT related supplies (accessories not supported by SCNA) with the approval of the Site Manager and/or Regional IT Lead.
General Activities: - Identify improvement ideas and contribute to implementing local improvements.
- Provide on-site support for Global IT/D Product Teams: Service and Devices, IP, DWP, CRS in IT-related topics, including office and shopfloor, according to global support processes.
- Assistance for local topics coming out of the global IT/D products including storage and exchange of hardware components.
- Assist users in creating "tickets" if necessary.
- Forward topics to the global support organization and the responsible IT/D products.
- Conduct end-user training on IT topics, including "basic" training and translation for localized content like how-to guides.
- Test local solutions (e.g., new meeting room equipment, new hardware, printers ).
- Proactively monitor and maintain IT equipment (e.g., meeting rooms, all kinds of devices).
- Contribute to local IT security topics.
- Create and manage appropriate knowledge articles for local solutions and share them with the Servicedesk. Contribute to general improvement initiatives.
- Maintain local guidelines and manuals.
- Handle ticket escalations on-site.
- Align planned downtime with local and global teams.
- Coordinate external support activities.
- Support, procurement and registering to central CMDB of site-specific IT applications & equipment on site (based on global/local contracts & standards) outside of the IT/D Service Catalogue.
- Accountable for storage of spare parts/clients roll-outs, monitors, keyboards, etc.
- Use Active Directory to set up/maintain users, etc.
Special Topics: - (Network) Infrastructure Topics:
- Monitor local NW-hardware in DNA-Center.
- Load software and configuration through DNA-Center.
- Organize replacement of spares.
- Patch cables.
- Allow devices on ISE (network-port-security).
- Troubleshoot connections on ISE.
- Server:
- Monitor local server hardware.
- Get faulty hardware exchanged in coordination with partners.
- End-user Devices (PC, Printer, Mobile phones, supplies):
- Setup, install, return, replace, and handle RMA for standard and non-standard hardware (PC, Notebooks, Mobile phones).
- Install software that requires local presence.
- Manage on-site storage for IT devices and supplies.
- Ensure patch-update compliance for non-standard devices.
- IIoT / Machine Connection:
- Integrate Edge Device into the machine network.
- Coordinate the replacement and installation of machine network hardware with Industrial Engineering and Maintenance departments.
- Handle updates and failure management for proprietary software used on single machines.
- Backup and restore proprietary hardware (e.g., Win2000 on machines).
- Provide first-level support for IIoT issues.
- EHSM/Q:
- Access Control System :
- Support guest/employee card printers, controllers, reading devices, etc.
- Provide extended support for user management.
- CCTV (video surveillance):
- Support infrastructure topics (e.g., servers, cameras).
- Configure cameras.
Qualifications: - Associate degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of systems administration experience, including exposure to network operating systems, client-server architectures, and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Technical knowledge of PC hardware and Windows operating systems, including hardware and software installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing a multi-site medium-sized PC network, including exposure to LAN and WAN technologies, basic hardware configuration, and management and troubleshooting of network issues.
- Working knowledge of software productivity tools such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
