Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with a diverse population, focusing on the assessment and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders in adult patients.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide speech, language, and swallowing therapy to patients recovering from acute medical events.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and case managers to provide holistic care.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and families about communication and swallowing disorders, home exercises, and safety strategies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with all facility, state, and federal guidelines and professional standards.
Experience
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program is required.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Experience in rehabilitation or acute care preferred.
