Job Summary:
The X-Ray Technologist I performs diagnostic imaging exams to help diagnose and determine the best treatment plan for patients while ensuring a comfortable and safe environment.
Essential Functions:
Perform radiographic procedures and operate related equipment.
Greet patients, obtain medical history, and input data into the system.
Capture high-quality x-ray images and ensure patient safety.
Monitor patients' vital signs during exams.
Provide backup coverage as needed.
Mentor new hires and maintain CPR certification.
Adhere to Standards of Care, HIPAA regulations, and ARRT ethics.
Communicate procedures and follow-up requirements to patients.
Submit diagnostic-quality images and perform equipment checks.
Collaborate with team members and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; Associate/Bachelor's degree in radiography preferred.
ARRT certification and NY State license in Radiologic Technology required.
1-4 years of experience preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to use department systems.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, assist with patients weighing up to 300 pounds.
Visual acuity correctable to 20/20 for equipment operation.
