We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Wichita Falls, TX. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide high-quality care focused on rehabilitating patients within the SNF setting. This role involves assisting patients in regaining mobility, improving strength, and enhancing their overall quality of life through customized therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients with diverse conditions, including orthopedics and pediatrics.
- Conduct patient assessments to monitor progress and communicate findings to the supervising therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment sessions in compliance with medical standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across acute care, outpatient clinics, and home health settings to optimize patient outcomes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized treatment environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to physical therapy practices.
- Proficiency in anatomy, especially regarding movement and rehabilitation.
- Experience with geriatric care is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Understanding of discharge planning to support smooth patient transitions post-treatment.
- Familiarity with acute care environments and orthopedic conditions is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate demeanor and a strong commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
