WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician for an assignment at Prestigious Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Job Function:
- Day Shift
- 5x8, 8:00am-5:00pm
- Responsible for receiving written prescription or refill requests, verifying that information is accurate under supervising pharmacist
- Prepare bulk medications, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and type and attach labels
- Maintain proper storage and security for all drugs
- Deliver medications to patient care areas, refill automated dispensing cabinets, and conduct medication station reviews while adhering to department policies
- Order medications and supplies as needed or requested
- Assist patients by answering questions or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting (hospital, retail, or long-term care).
- Knowledge of medication names, dosages, and common drug interactions.
- Ability to process prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and insurance billing processes.
