Position Overview Amergis is seeking a Full time Locum Pharmacists to provide immediate support. This position offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities - Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Review and interpret physician orders
- Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and patients
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary rounds
Requirements - Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- OR completion of a foreign equivalency examination
- Licensure:
- Active Michigan Pharmacist License
- Controlled Substance License (State of Michigan)
- Candidates must be licensed in Michigan at the time of submission
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of pharmacist experience in a hospital or clinical setting

linical Pharmacist - Summary of Responsibilities Under limited supervision, provides comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. These services include: Primary Care & Consultative Services: Offers expert drug therapy recommendations and collaborates with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes. Prescription Review & Dispensing: Evaluates prescriptions for safety, appropriateness, and clarity. Communicates with prescribers to resolve any ambiguities or concerns. Dispenses and compounds medications in accordance with established protocols. Patient Interaction & Education: Conducts patient interviews to gather medication histories and provides counseling on current drug therapies. Identifies patients requiring additional education and delivers tailored educational materials. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Works closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and enhance patient education and care delivery. Supervision & Training: Assigns, trains, and supervises pharmacy support personnel, including technicians, residents, interns, clerks, and students. Ensures accuracy and compliance with institutional policies and procedures. Inventory & Compliance: Maintains medication and supply inventories, ensuring proper storage and adherence to environmental and regulatory standards. Educational Programs: Develops and delivers formal educational sessions for both patients and healthcare staff. Quality Assurance: Conducts inspections of patient care areas to verify proper drug availability, storage conditions, and expiration dating.
