ARMStaffing is looking for MedSurg Tele Nurses - MedSurg Tele Unit
The MedSurg Tele RN provides comprehensive care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, including assessing, implementing, and evaluating care plans, while also monitoring vital signs and interpreting telemetry data to ensure patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conducts individualized patient assessments, prioritizing data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs. Develops and implements individualized plans of care, considering patient goals and healthcare team recommendations. Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and revise the plan of care as needed.
- Telemetry Monitoring: Monitors patients' cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other critical parameters using telemetry equipment. Interprets telemetry data, identifies trends, and recognizes potential problems or complications. Alerts healthcare providers promptly regarding concerning changes in patient status.
- Medication Administration and Treatment: Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers. Monitors patients for adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns.
- Patient and Family Education: Provides education to patients and families about their conditions, medications, and treatment plans. Answers questions and addresses concerns related to patient care.
- Documentation: Maintains accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses. Documents telemetry data, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure coordinated patient care. Communicatse effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Must hold a current Pennsylvania nursing license.
- Experience: May require specific experience depending on the specific position within the department.
- Skills: Strong time management, assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential.
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
Work Environment:
- Fast-Paced and Demanding: Telemetry units are known for being fast-paced and demanding, requiring nurses to be able to quickly assess patients and respond to changes in their conditions.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, other nurses, and support staff.
- Physical demands: May be required to lift, transfer, and assist patients, including patients with varying degrees of mobility. A significant portion of the shift is spent standing and walking, with some sitting.
