ARMStaffing is looking for Medical Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurses - Med/Surg Tele RN Jobs Available in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
The Med/Surg Tele RN monitors cardiac and other vital signs, interprets data, administers medications, and collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure patient safety and well-being. Manages patient care, responds to emergencies, educates patients and families, and maintains accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Interpretation: Continuously monitors patient vital signs (heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, etc.) using telemetry equipment, interprets telemetry data, and identifies abnormal patterns or trends.
- Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conducts thorough patient assessments to identify individual needs and develops personalized care plans. Collaborates with healthcare team to implement and evaluate care plans.
- Medication Management: Administers medications accurately and safely, including IV medications and other therapies.
- Emergency Response: Initiates emergency interventions, including CPR, defibrillation, and administration of emergency medications.
- Documentation: Maintains accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment findings, interventions, and patient progress.
- Collaboration and Communication: Communicates effectively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and family members. Participates in rounds and handoffs to ensure continuity of care.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address complex patient care issues and adapt to changing priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current and valid Pennsylvania RN License or Compact RN License to work in Pennsylvania.
- Required Certifications: Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of recent experience working on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. Floating to Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele units is preferred.
- Stress Management: Demonstrated ability to handle stress and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle unexpected events.
Work Environment:
- Med/Surg Tele Unit: Fast-paced environment with a high turnover rate of patients. Collaborative setting where nurses work closely with physicians, residents, interns, and a multidisciplinary team, fostering a learning environment.
- Teamwork: Will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, other nurses, and support staff, to provide coordinated patient care.
- Physical Demands: May need to stand for long periods. Lift and move patients, which can be physically demanding.
